Have You Ever Felt This Way?

Lying awake at night, your mind replaying the day's events on repeat. You know you "have emotions," but you can't quite articulate what they are. You want to talk to someone, but don't know where to begin. You think about journaling, but everything feels too chaotic to put into words.

Or maybe you've just gotten used to "pushing through." Work pressure, interpersonal friction, dissatisfaction with yourself—these emotions exist like background music, occasionally getting louder, but you always tell yourself "it's not a big deal." Until one day, you realize you haven't truly relaxed in a very long time.

This isn't your fault. This is a shared reality of modern life: we have so much to do, yet so little space to properly process ourselves.

Our Story: Starting from Our Own Needs

EmoTree was born from our team's personal need for emotional awareness.

When we experienced emotional lows, we found ourselves wanting to process our feelings but not knowing where to start. There are many mental health resources available, but few tools that truly help you "reflect and organize." What we wanted to create wasn't an AI that gives answers, but a space where you can slowly organize your thoughts when needed, and see your patterns when you look back.

Why Does "Putting It Into Words" Help?

In psychology, there's a concept called "Self-Narrative": when we try to describe our experiences in words, we naturally distinguish between "what happened (objective facts)" and "how I interpret it (subjective interpretation)." This process itself helps us see our emotions more clearly, rather than being overwhelmed by messy feelings. EmoTree is designed to support this self-narrative process.

Our vision is simple: Make emotional awareness part of everyday life.

Awareness doesn't have to wait until "something is wrong." It can be five minutes of reflection before bed, clarifying thoughts after an event, or self-discovery during long-term review. EmoTree isn't here to solve your problems—it's here to provide a supportive space where you can slowly understand yourself.

Product Features: Three Modes to Help You Reflect and Organize

EmoTree combines AI conversation with structured review, helping you organize messy feelings and see recurring patterns. We offer three core modes:

Mode 1: AI Conversation Companion

Best for: Processing emotions in the moment, clarifying after events, winding down before bed.

EmoTree's AI uses gentle questions to help you gradually organize events, emotions, and interpretations. It doesn't rush to give answers—instead, it guides you to distinguish between "what happened" and "how I think about it," helping you naturally gain awareness through conversation.

Every conversation is recorded, so you can look back and realize "so that's what I was thinking."

Mode 2: Emotion Dashboard

Best for: Seeing your emotional trends, finding recurring themes.

After each conversation, the system automatically tags emotions, event types, and core themes, building your emotion dashboard. You can see:

  • Emotion Radar: Distribution and intensity changes of recent emotions
  • Theme Trends: Which topics keep appearing (e.g., work pressure, relationships, self-expectations)
  • Driver Analysis: Main factors affecting your emotions

Awareness is the starting point for change—when you see patterns, you have the opportunity to make different choices.

Mode 3: Tree Growth Visualization

Best for: When you feel like you haven't done anything, need some positive feedback.

Each conversation adds nourishment to your little tree, making growth visible. It's not a reward mechanism—it's a reminder that being willing to start a conversation, being willing to organize yourself, is itself an act of self-care.

Memory Module: Making AI Understand You Better

Regular AI conversations start from zero each time, but EmoTree is different. With your consent, the system retains your historical context, retrieving relevant fragments when needed to make conversations more coherent and responses more personalized.

You don't need to re-explain yourself every time—AI remembers your story.

Technology & Methods

EmoTree's technical design aims to make emotional support more natural, personalized, and reviewable.

Natural Conversation & Reflective Questions

We use Large Language Models (LLM) to make conversations feel as natural as chatting with a friend. Our conversation design is also inspired by psychological methods (such as cognitive behavioral and narrative organization concepts), using reflective questions to help you clarify the relationship between events, emotions, and interpretations.

Memory Module: Dual-Layer Structure

EmoTree's memory module has two layers:

  • Raw Memory: Records each conversation's events, emotions, and feelings in the moment
  • User Model: Long-term compilation of your themes, patterns, and recurring interpretations

This lets you see not just "what happened" during review, but also "how I usually interpret things."

Personalized Review & Retrieval Enhancement

Through RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology, the system can retrieve the most relevant historical fragments with your consent, so conversations don't have to start from zero each time.

Security & Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. Here are our current design directions and plans:

  • Data Storage: Your conversation records are stored to provide personalized experiences, using encrypted transmission and storage
  • Access Control: The team cannot view your personal conversation content; we can only access de-identified aggregate analytics
  • Technical Architecture: We're designing toward multi-tenant isolation, OAuth2/JWT authentication, private databases, and standardization (referencing FHIR specifications)
  • Data Deletion: When you end use or exit, you can request data deletion

Note: The above are design directions; some features are still being refined.

Non-Treatment Positioning & Risk Classification

EmoTree is an emotional support and self-awareness tool—not medical, not therapeutic, not diagnostic.

When the system detects that you may be in a higher-risk emotional state, it provides appropriate resource reminders (such as crisis hotlines) to help you seek professional assistance when needed.
